Let’s Go OKR

VAST GREEN is based on a strategy, that follows scientific findings and above all tries to be implementation-focused. The strategy is designed as an OKR framework, where we see VAST GREEN first and foremost as a process that involves the whole team – which builds a viable path and methodological approach for VAST FORWARD towards a more sustainable future.

Our VAST GREEN principles may sound simple, yet as it is often the case, we need to start making changes where we can take quick actions ourselves. Avoiding waste, a new way of thinking collaboratively, rethinking travel or the question of how we can create a stronger connection despite our distance. Prior to developing our strategy, we took a deep dive into the topic of sustainable business, which opened our eyes to the complexity and vastness of the subject. This can be a reason, why the topic often seems overwhelming for many. Where do we start and how can we really make a difference? As a result, many companies limit themselves to the simplest measures – offsetting CO2 financially. We are not satisfied with that approach, which is why we set out to go one step further with our VAST GREEN strategy with which we do not simply limit ourselves to offsetting CO2 emissions. 

“We do not just compensate” is more than a mission statement for us as a team; it is our reminder that real change must be a journey; an evolving process. To keep our journey transparent and verifiable, our strategy is designed as an OKR framework.

We have granted our sustainability method VAST GREEN the title “We do not just compensate”. With this statement, we aim to jointly develop a more sustainable future for VAST FORWARD, a “green”, digital product as well as future-oriented labor. What consequences and changes are necessary for this, we do not yet know in detail. In the first steps, the journey is the reward – plus the clearest possible, transparent documentation of what has been achieved.

The implementation of our VAST GREEN strategy is scheduled over a two year period. For that, we formulate goals collectively and try to achieve them in sprints within a defined period of time. During the process, our solutions are developed together in working groups in weekly coworking sessions, where the results are documented and finally published on our VAST GREEN website. 

The OKRs of our strategy are a consequence of our conviction that change must be a process. The first sprint lays behind us, we’re currently working on the second and we are keeping up with it – or as we say in our coworking sessions: “Let’s Go!”.
